Certified Master Rug Cleaners
Scott Gwilliam, Master Rug Cleaner
“I started my own carpet cleaning business in 2004, Carpet Tech Services. I quickly became the Valley’s “carpet guru” and go-to cleaner, especially for problematic cleaning issues and commercial carpet corrections/technical issues.
I began to see an industry-wide change from wall-to-wall carpet being replaced with hard surfaces. With hard surfaces came AREA RUGS, which not many in the Valley knew how to clean (I mean, clean properly). I would clean carpet, tile, upholstery, etc. for my client’s, but I would literally turn them down when they asked for me to clean their fine rugs (because I knew they needed to be cleaned properly in a facility and NOT in someone’s home).
I embarked on a rug and textile cleaning training journey which was intense and costly. I traveled throughout the US for over 2 years to be trained by industry leaders before I even cleaned my first rug. Eventually, I opened Rug Worx (located in Mesa, AZ) and hit the ground running. I am now a Master Rug Cleaner, TextilePro and WoolSafe approved rug care specialist. I remain devoted to rug education for myself, my staff, my clients and the AZ design community.
One of my current focuses is educating the design community on rug fibers, construction and care/maintenance. I am an IDCEC approved instructor and ASID industry partner. I want to teach people about the rugs they have, how to care for them, and also how to make educated decisions when buying new rugs.”
