SO MANY RUGS TO CHOOSE FROM…WHERE DO I START???

Not to worry, we are here to help! Regardless of your personal design style, let’s break it down into 2 IMPORTANT FACTORS you need to know before you make a purchase:

#1 FIBER TYPE & #2 CONSTRUCTION TYPE

FIBER TYPES from BEST to Worst:

#1 WOOL (natural fiber)

#2 SILK (natural fiber)

#3 NYLON – POLYESTERPOLYPROPOLENE (synthetic fibers)

#4 SISAL – JUTE (natural fibers)

#5 VISCOSE – RAYON – TENCEL & Fake Silks labeled as “Bamboo/Banana/Faux Silk” (syn/nat/blended fibers)

* WOOL reigns it at #1 because it is the STRONGEST with 10,000 bends before it breaks! Real SILK gets 2,400 bends before it breaks, and Rayon/Viscose gets a failing grade as the weakest fiber with only 70 bends.

CONSTRUCTION TYPES from BEST to Worst:

#1 HAND KNOTTED & HAND WOVEN

#2 MACHINE MADE

#3 TUFTED

#4 HAND LOOM

* Not all construction types are listed, we just narrowed it down to a few for you. It should be noted that tufted, hand loomed and some patch rugs can be problematic for cleaning and maintenance purposes.
